Staten Island Ferry service suspended due to high tides, wind

NEW YORK, NY – A passing winter storm has just made commuting in and out of New York City even worse. With coastal flooding and flooding of several major arteries in the city already causing congestion, the Staten Island Ferry service has been suspended until further notice.

Officials cite extreme high tides and high winds for the closure.

It is uncertain when service will be restored.

UPDATE: As of 9:40 am, service has resumed.
