Two assaulted during dispute at home in Cumberland

CUMBERLAND CITY, MD – Police have arrested 42-year-old Julio Mark Nelson after he assaulted two occupants in a home during an argument.

As a result of a report of an assault on Thursday, Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of High Lane.

Upon their arrival, officers contacted the victims and witnesses of the alleged assault.

The subjects informed the officers that an argument occurred between the residents in the home. An attempt was made by a victim to record the incident during the argument.

At that time, Nelson, began assaulting other subjects in the home, resulting in minor injuries to two separate victims. Nelson was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters.

He was taken to the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance, where he was ordered to be held at the Allegany County Detention Center.
