Surf City Fire Department seeking to repair, rebuild after fire-damaged firehouse

SURF CITY, NJ – A fire damaged the Surf City firehouse on Long Beach Island this week. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the fire, but the firehouse is now out of commission. The fire damaged part of the structure.

The Surf City Volunteer Fire Department is now taking donations to help rebuild and to get back into service for the community.

“As many of you have heard, the Surf City Volunteer Fire Company and EMS suffered a fire in the engine bays of our building last night,” the department said. “We are very fortunate that our apparatus only suffered smoke damage. Our building, however, suffered smoke damage and fire damage. We are grateful for everyone that has reached out and we thank you. We have had several inquiries about where to send financial donations.”
