Two Landover teens charged for armed carjacking of rideshare driver

LANDOVER, MD – Two juveniles have been arrested and charged with the armed carjacking of a rideshare driver and luring them to their location.

According to the Columbus Police Department, the two teens, 16 and 17, will be charged as adults.

On Monday, at approximately 9:40 pm, officers responded to the 1500 block of Belle Haven Drive for the report of an armed carjacking.

“The victim advised officers he had been carjacked at gunpoint by two suspects who he was providing a ride to through a rideshare service. The victim, in fear for his life, complied,” police said.

Then, on Wednesday, at around 10 pm, officers with the Prince George’s County carjacking interdiction unit observed the stolen, carjacked car in the 5300 block of Riverdale Road in Riverdale.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested both male suspects. A loaded ghost gun with an extended magazine was found in the vehicle.
