Elderly man, woman injured in Mulberry Street apartment fire

YONKERS, NY – Two elderly residents were injured, one critically, in a fire that occurred today at 21 Mulberry Street in Yonkers.

Firefighters from the Yonkers Fire Department responded to the home at around 4:20 pm.

“Two victims were transported to local area hospitals: a 68-year-old male listed in grave condition; and an 85-year-old female listed in stable condition. Both victims appear to have resided on the fourth floor,” the Yonkers Fire Department said.

Due to the fire, the building’s occupants were relocated to The Westchester School where they are being tended to by members of the Red Cross and City of Yonkers Office of Emergency Management and Constituent Services personnel.
