Suspect expected at trial for pool stick assault cuts ankle monitor, flees

Columbus, OH – Police are searching for Donald Nelson, a suspect in a 2021 attack with a pool stick after he did not show up for his court trial.

Now, the Columbus Division of Police and the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office are asking the public to notify them of his whereabouts it known.

CPD said Nelson had removed his ankle monitor and refused to answer his phone.

“The 33-year-old attacked a victim with a pool cue back in November 2021 and was scheduled to be sentenced earlier this week,” police said.
