13-year-old boy killed in Brooklyn house fire

On Sunay, January 22, 2023, at approximately 1029 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a residential fire at 3400 Snyder Avenue, within the confines of the 67 Precinct

NEW YORK, NY – A steady stream of black smoke poured from the top floors of a seven-story East Flatbush apartment building early Sunday morning.

Police and over 100 firefighters from the New York City Fire Department responded to the two-alarm fire at 3400 Snyder Avenue at around 10:30 am.

Three people were taken from the building and transported by EMS personnel to NYC Health and Hospitals/King County.

The victims included a 50-year-old woman, a 21-year-old man, and a 13-year-old boy.

The boy did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead. He was identified as Dillon Waldren-Dickson. Three others suffered minor injuries.

Police are continuing their investigation and the New York City fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

By 11:45 the fire was under control.
