Incarcerated suspect charged in December double shooting in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – An arrest has been made in the December 16th shooting that wounded a man and a woman in the area of New Jersey Avenue, according to the Atlantic City Police Department.

A month-long investigation led to the arrest of 18-year-old Quadri Cooper, 18, of Atlantic City. Cooper was already lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on an unrelated handgun possession charge when police filed more charges against him.

Those charges include two counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit murder and multiple weapons charges.

According to police, on December 16, 2022, at 3:06 PM, patrol officers responded to the 400 block of north New Jersey Avenue in reference to reports of shots fired and a ShotSpotter alert.

“Officers arrived and located two shooting victims, a 25-year-old male and a 25-year-old female, both from Atlantic City. The victims were subsequently transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of injuries sustained in the shooting,” the ACPD said in a statement today.
