Juvenile struck and killed in Queens car crash

NEW YORK, NY – Police are investigating after a 7-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car in Astoria Friday night.

Police responded to the area of 46th Street and Newtown Road shortly after 6 pm on Friday to find the child had been struck by a 2021 Ford Explorer driven by an unidentified 46-year-old woman.

The girl, whose name was not released, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

Police said the crash occurred at the intersection. At this time, no charges have been filed against the driver.
