Police say husband killed missing Cumberland mom

CUMBERLAND, MD – Police in Cumberland suspect the husband of a 29-year-old mother who was reported missing last June has killed her.

On June 5, 29-year-old Brittany Kaye Donahue was reported missing from her Amherst Avenue residence she shared with her husband and children.

The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office said she was reported missing by another family member after not being seen or heard from for several days.

Police launched an investigation into the suspicious nature of Donahue’s disappearance.

“As part of the investigation into the disappearance, numerous interviews were conducted, and search warrants obtained and searches conducted,” the Cumberland Police Department reported today. “Evidence obtained as a result of the lengthy investigation developed enough information that led C3I investigators to believe that 29-year-old Jesse Austin Donahue, Ms. Donahue’s husband, was responsible for her death and disappearance.”

Donahue was indicted by a grand jury on Monday and charged with first-degree murder.
