ODENTON, MD – Police in Prince George’s County suspect a shotgun or other long-barreled rifle was used to commit a carjacking on Peaceful Way in Odenton on Tuesday.

According to police, officers responded to the location where a victim stated that while they were parked in front of a community dumpster, they were approached by a black male in their early twenties, wearing all black, with a black face mask, and armed with what they described as some type of rifle or shotgun.

“The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and stole the victim’s dark blue 2014 Toyota Camry,” PGPD said today. “The victim last observed their vehicle traveling in the direction of Blue Water Boulevard”

Police believe the suspect was accompanied by a second vehicle, a grey Hyundai four-door sedan, occupied by what they described as two black males in their late teens or early twenties wearing dark clothing and masks.

Nobody was injured during the carjacking.

Western District detectives are investigating the incident and ask that anyone with information contact them at (410) 222-6155 or the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line at (410) 222-4700.
