NYC man maced by bike thieves

NEW YORK, NY – A pair of bike thieves robbed a 29-year-old man in Bushwick on Monday and then maced him before fleeing with his bike.

According to the NYPD, shortly after 4 pm last Monday, a 29-year-old male was approached by two unknown male individuals in front of 486 Central Avenue.

“One of the individuals demanded the victim’s bicycle and removed keys to a bike lock from the victim’s back pocket,” the NYPD said in a statement today. “The individual then removed the victim’s bicycle and handed it to the second individual. The first individual then displayed a can of mace and sprayed the victim in the face.”

The two suspects then fled. The victim was treated by EMS at the scene for minor injuries and released.
