DAVIDSON, MD – A 71-year-old woman who intentionally drove her car through a Davidsonville man’s property, causing damage, was shot at by the man as she attempted to flee, according to police.

On Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Riva Road in Davidsonville in response to reports of a shooting that had just happened.

An investigation by the Anne Arundel County Police Department revealed that the alleged perpetrator was a 71-year-old woman who had deliberately driven onto the victim’s property and plowed into two parked vehicles. Upon exiting his residence with an AR-15 rifle, the resident fired several shots at the escaping vehicle.

Shortly after, officers discovered that a similar vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run incident near Solomons Island Road and Colony Crossing, where injuries were reported.

Police later tracked down the vehicle at Mitchells Chance Road in Edgewater, and its operator was taken into custody without any difficulties. Inspections of the car showed three bullet holes on its windshield matching those from the rounds discharged on Riva Road.

Fortunately, no physical harm came about as a result of the shooting. Appropriate charges have been filed against both parties involved.

The woman was identified as Marlene Montes Terwilliger of Annapolis. The homeowner was identified as Hugh Christopher Haythorne, 42.
