18-year-old woman killed in crash in Upper Marlboro

UPPER MARLBORO, MD – An 18-year-old woman who was a passenger ina vehicle involved in a motor vehicle crash died, police said today.

This morning, a fatal crash occurred in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro.

The deceased passenger is an 18-year-old female from Upper Marlboro. The passenger’s name will not be released per the family’s request.

At approximately 9:00 am, officers responded to the area of Ritchie Marlboro Road and Marlboro Pointe Drive for a motor vehicle collision.

According to the preliminary investigation, the decedent was a passenger in a car heading north on Ritchie Marlboro Road. For reasons under investigation, the car attempted to pass a second vehicle and struck a landscaping trailer at the rear.

The decedent was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
