Police investigate overnight double shooting in Paterson

PATERSON, NJ – Two people were shot overnight in Paterson in a shooting incident near the area of 12th Avenue and Straight Street. The shooting was reported at around 11:10 pm by a ShotSpotter alert monitoring device in the area.

One person was treated for multiple gunshot wounds at the scene and transported to the hospital. A second victim was reportedly checked in at St. Joseph’s Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds sustained during the same incident.

Both victims were reportedly in stable condition and are expected to survive. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.

Police are continuing their investigation.
