HYATTSVILLE, MD – A pizza maker from Hyattsville played the $50,000 Cash scratch off game from Maryland Lottery and hit the jackpot.

According to the Maryland Lottery, the pizza guy took a break from tossing the dough and tried his luck tossing some cash in the lottery vending machine at the Giant Store in Pasadena.

An avid Lottery player from Prince George’s County won $50,000 while on break from work at a local pizzeria in Anne Arundel County. Instead of tossing the dough, the pizza maker is rolling in it with his top-prize win on a $50,000 Cash scratch-off.

The ticket cost him $20. After he scanned the ticket, the machine told him to take it to lottery headquarters.

“I first scanned it and the message said to take to the Lottery, then the cashier ran it for me and told me it was a $50,000 winner,” said the lucky guy. “I couldn’t believe it.”

The father of one told Lottery officials that this is the most he’s ever won. He shared that he might use some of the prize for a down payment on a house, but is still thinking about it.
