Body found in vacant lot in North Philadelphia, homicide detectives investigating

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Homicide detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department are investigating after the body of a man was found in a vacant lot in Northeast Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting a dead body in the area of the 3000 block of North 16th Street at around 2:30 am.

The body was identified as an adult male, 28 years of age. He had multiple visible gunshot wounds, including one in the head and leg.

A police investigation determined the man was shot where his body was found, evidenced by nearby shell casings.

At this time, no arrests have been made. No suspects have been identified.
