Authorities Seek Two Suspects in Southwest Philadelphia Commercial Robbery Attempt

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two suspects involved in an attempted commercial robbery on March 10th, 2023. The incident took place shortly before 6:00 AM at the Maranatha Grocery Store, located at 7223 West Passyunk Avenue.

The two unknown males entered the store, one armed with a gun and the other carrying a wooden container with an ax inside. The gunman demanded money from an employee while his accomplice attempted to break open the ATM using the ax. Eventually, both suspects fled the scene without taking anything.

Police advise anyone who sees the suspects to avoid approaching them and to contact 911 immediately. All tips will be kept confidential.
