Utica woman facing arson charges

UTICA, NY – At approximately 3:15 AM, Utica Police and Utica Fire units were dispatched to Kennedy Pl. apartments in response to a possible arson investigation.

According to reports, the victim was inside his apartment when he noticed his hallway floor mat on fire being pushed under his door. After putting out the fire, the victim saw a female he was familiar with standing there.

The officers located and detained the female, later identified as Doretha Rolle, age 47, for further investigation. After interviewing Rolle, she was charged with arson in the fourth degree.

U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero stated, “Arson is a serious crime, and we take allegations of this nature very seriously. Our office is committed to enforcing the law and bringing justice to those who have committed arson.”
