D.C. Police Identify Woman Found Dead in Trash Container

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A woman’s body was found in a trash container in Southeast, D.C., Monday afternoon.

Just before 1:30 pm, the Washington D.C. Metro Police Department arrived at the 1600 block of 27th Street after a groundskeeper found the woman’s body.

59-year-old Yvette Spencer from D.C. was identified as the victim. The area with the trash container was taped off. Police have not released any information on the victim’s cause of death.
