Rockville Police Investigating Assault Pattern Targeting Women

ROCKVILLE, MD – The Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) is currently investigating two separate assault incidents in the King Farm community that have left residents on edge. Both incidents involved a male suspect who grabbed a woman’s buttocks and then fled the scene.

The first incident took place on March 15, 2023, around 4:30 p.m., near Redland Boulevard and Piccard Drive. The victim described the suspect as a black male, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing 190 lbs., with short black hair, and wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt and sweatpants.

The second incident occurred on Tuesday, around 11:45 a.m., in the area of Redland Boulevard and Gaither Road. The suspect in this case was described as a black male, roughly 30 years old, between 5’9″ and 5’10” in height, weighing 200 lbs., with short black hair. He was last seen wearing black pants, black tennis shoes, and a hooded black puff coat.

RCPD urges residents to be vigilant and practice personal safety measures, such as planning their routes, avoiding distractions, and reporting any suspicious activity. Anyone with information about these incidents should contact RCPD’s Criminal Investigations Unit at 240-314-8938.
