FREDERICA, DE – Delaware State Police arrested Charles Drummond III, a 55-year-old man from New Castle, on felony gun charges after a traffic stop in Frederica on Friday morning. Troopers observed Drummond’s Chrysler 300 swerving out of its lane multiple times, prompting them to stop the vehicle. Upon contact, they noticed signs of impairment and initiated a DUI investigation.

Following Drummond’s arrest, troopers conducted an inventory search of the Chrysler and discovered a loaded handgun concealed within the vehicle. Drummond was subsequently charged with carrying a concealed firearm (felony), possession of a firearm while under the influence (misdemeanor), driving under the influence of alcohol (misdemeanor), and failure to remain within a single lane.
