Two shot, one dead in front of NYC housing project

NEW YORK, NY – On Monday, two people were shot and one killed outside the Ingersoll NYCHA housing project in Brooklyn. According to police, the shooting occurred around 11:10 am near 24 Monument Walk.

Police arrived on scene after receiving a report by 911 dispatchers regarding a shooting.

88th Precinct officers arrived to find a 33-year-old male with a headshot wound. FDNY EMS rushed the victim to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. While police were investigating the shooting, detectives were made aware of a second shooting victim.

“A preliminary investigation determined that a 21-year-old male who transported himself to Brooklyn Hospital in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the left hand was also injured at the same time and location,” police said. “There are no arrests in regard and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.”

The identification of the deceased is pending family notification.
