Utica Man Arrested for Possession of Handgun and Criminal Mischief

UTICA, NY – Yesterday, Oscar Boykin, 40, of Utica, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, criminal possession of a firearm, menacing in the second degree, and criminal mischief. Utica Police responded to a call regarding an argument involving a man with a handgun on Churchill Ave.

Upon arrival, officers learned that Boykin had displayed a handgun and threatened the resident with it during an argument, then proceeded to break numerous items in the home. Officers detained Boykin and found a discarded handgun matching the description nearby with a visible heat signature, leading to his arrest and charges.
