Seaford Man Arrested for Felony DUI After Traffic Stop

SEAFORD, DE – Yesterday, Melvin Phillips, 60, of Seaford, Delaware, has been arrested for felony DUI following a traffic stop. Phillips was taken into custody after showing signs of impairment and smelling of alcohol. He has four prior DUI convictions and was charged with 5th Offense DUI (felony) and numerous traffic charges.

Phillips was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $8,004 cash bond. Law enforcement officials emphasize the dangers of impaired driving and remind the public to drive responsibly.
