CUMBERLAND, MD – Yesterday, the Cumberland City Police arrested Melvin Glenn Bohrer III, 50, of Cumberland, MD, on an active arrest warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court. The warrant stemmed from an investigation by the Cumberland Police and Combined Criminal Investigation unit into a sex offense committed by Bohrer in 2022.

During the investigation, it was determined that Bohrer had distributed illicit [censored]ographic images without the victims’ consent to no less than 26 different people. Following his arrest, Bohrer was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance. He was subsequently remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and is currently being held on a $5,000 bond.

Bohrer faces 26 charges of distributing intimate/sex images, and the Cumberland Police Department continues to investigate the case to ensure that all involved parties receive justice.
