Pittsburgh Man Arrested for Fatal Shooting in North Side

PITTSBURGH, PA – On Wednesday Authorities have arrested Aaron Smith, a 29-year-old Pittsburgh resident, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on February 5, 2023. The incident took place on the 600 block of Chautauqua Street in Pittsburgh’s North Side. Smith was apprehended by the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit with the assistance of the Altoona Police Department on March 29 in Altoona, PA, without incident.

Smith faces a series of charges, including Criminal Homicide, Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, Carrying a Firearm without a License, and Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Homicide. He is currently being held and will be transported to Allegheny County to face these charges. The arrest serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to keep communities safe and hold those responsible for violent crimes accountable.
