Suspect Sought in Benning Road Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in an assault with a dangerous weapon (gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, March 12, 2023, in the 1600 block of Benning Road, Northeast.

At around 2:41 pm, officers responded to reports of a shooting and found an adult male victim who was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was captured by surveillance cameras, and their photos and video have been released to the public. Anyone who can identify the individual or has any information about the incident is urged to call the police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the crime.
