One shot dead in Philadelphia’s Overbrook neighborhood

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Police are investigating another shooting death in Philadelphia.

Early Wednesday morning, a shooting occurred in Philadelphia’s Overbrook neighborhood, resulting in the death of a 63-year-old man.

Police reported that the incident happened at around 3 a.m. on Diamond Street in the 5600 block. The victim was discovered next to his car with a gunshot wound to the chest. The shooting happened near the victim’s home.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim was pronounced dead.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found a semi-automatic gun and the victim’s car running with its passenger door open. Five spent bullet casings were also found, with three located inside the victim’s car and two outside.
