Man falls to his death in 35-foot plunge from parking garage

PARAMUS, NJ – Tragedy struck at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus early Thursday morning as a 36-year-old man lost his life after plunging 35 feet to the ground in a parking deck. Police confirmed the incident that claimed the life of a Saddle Brook man.

Police believe the man intentionally leaped from the railing on the third-floor parking deck.

According to Paramus Deputy Police Chief Rob Guidetti, first responders found the man unconscious and not breathing on the lower level of the parking deck around 5:25 a.m. Despite the efforts of Paramus EMS, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s body was transported to the Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.
