NYPD searching for Staten Island double assault suspect

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual connected to a double assault that occurred within the 121 Precinct. The incident took place on Sunday, at around 11:00 pm at Castleton Avenue and Port Richmond Avenue.

A 29-year-old male (Victim #1) was involved in a dispute with an unknown individual and an apprehended individual. The apprehended individual struck Victim #1 in the head with a metal stick, and a 36-year-old male (Victim #2) tried to intervene. The unknown individual then used a baseball bat to strike both victims multiple times in the head before fleeing eastbound on Castleton Avenue. Both victims were transported to Richmond University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
