Elderly Prince George’s County woman reported missing

OXON HILL, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing 74-year-old woman, Joelle Dark. Ms. Dark was last seen in the 6900 block of Sunnyside Lane in Oxon Hill on Wednesday, at approximately 1:00 pm. She is a Black female, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 129 pounds, and uses a cane to assist with mobility.

Ms. Dark was wearing a black jacket, white striped blouse, blue jeans, and carried a light blue backpack at the time of her disappearance. Authorities are increasingly concerned for her safety due to her age and potential health issues. Family members have informed police that her disappearance is out of character, further increasing the urgency of the search.

Local community members have been encouraged to keep an eye out for Ms. Dark and to report any possible sightings to the police. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Oxon Hill, Division IV Investigation Section at (301) 749-4901, referencing case number 23-0020196. Police are working tirelessly to locate Ms. Dark and reunite her with her family.
