NYPD searching for serial jewelry thief

NEW YORK, NY – The NYPD is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the whereabouts of a suspect connected to a string of burglaries that occurred within the 112th Precinct on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. The suspect reportedly entered a residential building near Burns Street and Continental Avenue, forcibly gaining entry to multiple apartments.

Incident #1: The suspect entered a victim’s apartment, stealing jewelry and approximately $2,500 in cash. No injuries were reported.

Incident #2: The suspect forcibly entered another victim’s apartment and stole jewelry. Again, no injuries were reported.

Incident #3: The suspect broke into a third apartment and stole more jewelry, with no reported injuries.

The suspect is described as a male with dark complexion, approximately 30 to 40 years old, and was last seen wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap. He fled the scene in a silver Chevrolet four-door sedan heading toward Ascan Avenue. Police hope that with the public’s assistance, they can apprehend the suspect and put an end to this string of burglaries.
