Columbus police continue search for killer of 14-year-old Brylan Butcher

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Police Department is seeking the public’s help to solve the 2022 homicide of 14-year-old Brylan Butcher.

Officers discovered Butcher shot on South Terrace Avenue after being reported missing from the Richland County area.

Investigators have released surveillance video showing two suspects believed to have been with Butcher on the night of his murder.

“On March 5, 2022, at 7:54am, patrol officers were dispatched to 300 block of S. Terrace Ave. on a possible shooting. Upon arrival, Officers located the unidentified victim, who was unresponsive and appeared deceased,” the police reported at the time.

One suspect is a woman exiting a vehicle, and the other, wearing red pants, was seen walking with Butcher before the shooting. Anyone with information is urged to contact Det. Brandt at (614) 645-4077 or email JBBrandt@columbuspolice.org.
