Boston Police Stress Dangers and Importance of Reporting Domestic Violence

BOSTON, MA – Boston Police officers are raising awareness about the dangers they face when responding to domestic violence calls, particularly those involving firearms. The department recently made two separate arrests of male suspects in domestic violence cases where firearms were involved.

The Boston Police Department wants to remind victims that there is no excuse for domestic violence, and help is available. Victims are encouraged to reach out if they, or someone they know, need assistance or safety planning. In the case of an emergency, individuals should call 911 immediately.

Community members wishing to report non-emergency domestic violence cases anonymously can call the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or text the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463). The Boston Police Department assures that the identities of all those who wish to help victims of domestic violence will be stringently protected and kept anonymous.
