Monmouth County Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Online Enticement of Minor

MANALAPAN, NJ – Angelo N. Curato, a 30-year-old resident of Manalapan, New Jersey, was sentenced on Tuesday, to 120 months in prison for using online chat applications to entice an adolescent to engage in prohibited sexual activity.

Curato pleaded guilty to online enticement of a minor before U.S. District Judge Brian Martinotti on July 18, 2022.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Curato used online chat applications to send explicit messages and photos to an individual he believed to be a 14-year-old girl. Curato also arranged to meet the girl in person and engage in sexual activity with her.

The girl was an undercover law enforcement officer.

Curato was arrested on November 1, 2019, when he traveled to a location in New Jersey to meet the supposed 14-year-old girl.
