Morris County Man Admits Posing as Woman to Solicit Explicit Content from Minors

NEWARK, N.J. – Steven Brooks, a 36-year-old man from Morristown, New Jersey, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to producing and possessing child [censored]ography.

Brooks admitted to using a fake online persona to solicit explicit photos and videos from dozens of minors, posing as a woman. Law enforcement officers found child [censored]ography on his external hard drive, electronic devices, and social media accounts.

The production of child [censored]ography charge carries a statutory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for September 21, 2023.
