Bradford man arrested for biting, assaulting woman during domestic dispute

BRADFORD, PA – On Sunday, at approximately 7:30 pm, City of Bradford Police responded to a domestic disturbance at 38 Maplewood Avenue in Bradford.

The adult female victim alleged that the defendant, Joe Smith, had assaulted her by striking, biting, shoving, and otherwise causing injury. According to the victim’s statement, the altercation escalated from a verbal argument to a physical confrontation.

Officers investigated the scene, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. Based on the information gathered, Smith was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment. Magistrate William Todd arraigned Smith, who was remanded to McKean County Jail on $5,000 cash bail. Smith is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and a court date has been set for his trial.
