Teen Pleads Guilty for Shooting 14-Year-Old Inside Home in William-Emslie Neighborhood

BUFFALO, NY – This morning, a 16-year-old male from Buffalo has pleaded guilty to one count of Assault in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm for shooting a 14-year-old victim inside a home on Mary B. Talbert Boulevard in Buffalo.

The crime occurred on March 21, 2023, and the victim was treated at Oishei Children’s Hospital for a back injury.

The adolescent offender, eligible for youthful offender adjudication, is scheduled to be sentenced on June 12, 2023, and has been released under supervision with conditions, including house arrest when not attending school.

A co-defendant, 20-year-old Isaiah K. Hicks, faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Endangering Child Welfare. Hicks is set to appear before Buffalo City Court Judge Philip Dabney on April 17, 2023.
