21-year-old arrested for Harlem murder

NEW YORK, NY – Messiah Nantwi, a 21-year-old male, was arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon today, in connection to a shooting that occurred in Harlem on Sunday. Police responded to a 911 call reporting a male shot inside 304 Lenox Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 36-year-old male shot in the head. The victim was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced deceased.

The arrest comes from an ongoing investigation by the NYPD, which is working to address gun violence in the city.

Law enforcement officials are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any information related to this case or other incidents of gun violence.
