NYPD releases photo of suspect wanted for subway stabbing

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an individual involved in a subway assault within the 47th Precinct and Transit District 12. On Sunday, March 26, 2023, at around 11:39 am, a 38-year-old male was involved in a verbal dispute with an unknown individual on a southbound ‘2’ train.

The altercation escalated, resulting in the individual stabbing the victim in the lower back on the southbound platform at the East Gun Hill Road and White Plains Road train station.

The assailant fled, and the victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.
