NYPD searching for skeleton-clad purse snatcher in Washington Heights

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying an individual involved in a grand larceny incident within the 33rd Precinct. The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at approximately 8:00 am. The 30-year-old female victim was walking near 613 West 169th Street when an unidentified male approached her from behind and snatched her Galaxy cellphone, valued at approximately $900. The suspect then fled on foot.

The male individual is described as approximately 30 to 35 years of age, thin build, last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with a design in front, blue pants, and black/blue sneakers. Surveillance footage and a photo of the suspect are available at the DCPI.
