Utica Man Targeted in Drive-by Shooting

UTICA, NY – A drive-by shooting on the 1200 block of Lenox Avenue left a man with multiple gunshot wounds in the early hours of yesterday.

At approximately 4:30 AM, Utica Police and Fire units responded to the scene and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his legs and hands. It was reported that a vehicle had driven by, with an occupant firing several rounds at the victim.

The injured man was immediately transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital by the Utica Fire Department. His injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

The Utica Police Department’s Major Crime Unit has been assigned to the case and is actively investigating the incident.

They are seeking the public’s assistance in gathering information that may lead to identifying and apprehending the suspect(s) involved. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Utica Police Department or submit a tip through Mohawk Valley Crime Stoppers.
