Two Arrested, Handgun Recovered After Atlantic City Shooting

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department announced the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of a handgun following a shooting that occurred on Saturday. At 8:42 PM, patrol officers responded to the 800 block of Indiana Avenue after receiving a ShotSpotter alert. Officers spotted an SUV fleeing the area at a high rate of speed and pulled it over at Ohio and Atlantic Avenues.

The driver, a 32-year-old man from Galloway, NJ, had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, and the vehicle showed evidence of gunfire. Officers Anthony Nastasi and Tyman Gordy carried the victim into AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A loaded handgun was discovered inside the vehicle, leading to the arrest of passenger Alicia Gillard, a 36-year-old female from Atlantic City. A 17-year-old male from Mays Landing, NJ, was also arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the weapon.

This remains an active investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit.
