Suspect Arrested in Connection with Weekend Shooting in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, NY – On Sunday morning, officers from the Schenectady Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near Eastern Avenue and Prospect Street.

Upon arrival, they discovered a victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the thigh and foot. The victim was treated on scene by the Schenectady Fire Department and transported to a local hospital for further care.

Following an investigation, Schenectady Police detectives arrested 37-year-old Pierre S. Sanders of Schenectady later that morning. Sanders has been charged with attempted murder in the 2nd degree, a B felony, and criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree, a C felony.
