Man hospitalized after violent subway robbery in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man involved in a robbery in West Bronx.

On Thursday, at approximately 4:45 a.m., a 33-year-old male victim was sitting on a southbound 4 train heading toward the 183 Street Station when an unknown male individual approached him.

The suspect punched the victim multiple times in the face before forcibly removing the victim’s backpack. The individual exited the train at the 183 Street Station and fled to unknown parts. The victim was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male, medium build, and approximately 30 to 40 years old.
