Yonkers Public School Teacher Arrested and Charged Over Knife Incident

YONKERS, NY – A Yonkers Public School teacher, William Archacki, 50, has been arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child after a student alleged that Archacki approached them with a paring knife during school hours on February 8, 2023.

Archacki, a resident of Buchanan, NY, was a 5th-grade teacher at Public School #21 on Lee Avenue at the time of the incident. He was placed on modified duty the day after the incident, pending the outcome of the investigation.

Yonkers Police Detectives arrested Archacki yesterday. He was arraigned in Yonkers Criminal Court and released on his own recognizance, awaiting future court appearances.

The case is being prosecuted by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office. No information about the identities of students or other minors involved in the incident will be released.
