Multiple people shot early Saturday morning in Paterson

PATERSON, NJ – Police are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting in a Paterson neighborhood, injuring multiple victims. The incident happened at the intersection of 10th Avenue and East 22nd Street, where over 15 rounds of gunfire were detected by a ShotSpotter device.

Responding officers arrived on the scene and discovered one individual with severe injuries and shell casings, indicating an exchange of gunfire between one or more individuals.

A speeding car containing two more victims with gunshot wounds was stopped by police patrolling the area.

A fourth victim later arrived at St. Joseph’s Hospital with bullet wounds. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, and no fatalities have been reported.

Two other victims are suspected, but that information has yet to be confirmed.

The victims were between the ages of 26 and 37, including males and females. All of the victims were residents of Paterson.
