Four shot, One Dead in overnight shooting in Newark

Newark, NJ – The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into a deadly shooting that took place Saturday evening in Newark.

Police reported the incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. on Chancellor Avenue and Leslie Street.

The shooting resulted in one fatality, while three others were critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The victims’ identities have not been released pending notification of their families.

Currently, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
