Durham Police Investigate Clarendon Street Shooting, One Dead and One Injured

DURHAM, NC- Durham Police are investigating a fatal shooting on Clarendon Street in the early hours of Sunday morning. The incident left one man dead and another with life-threatening injuries.

Officers were called to the 900 block of Clarendon Street shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday, where they discovered two men who had been shot. Despite efforts to save him, one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim was rushed to Duke University Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving treatment. At this time, there is no information on the identity of the victims or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

However, based on preliminary investigations, police believe the shooting was not a random act of violence. The Durham Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
